Day 02 Monday Arrival in Rio de Janeiro

The South America tour starts with a welcome to Brazil, the largest and most exuberant country in South America! Begin your tour with an overview of its swinging capital, legendary Rio de Janeiro. You will feel the heady combination of tropical lushness, vibrant emotion and sophisticated urbanity that co-exist magically in this part of the world. First, climb the Corcovado Mountain by rail, soaring through Tijuca Rain Forest to the peak. Here, carved in soapstone in the finest Art Nouveau style, stands the gigantic, world-famous statue of Christ the Redeemer, arms outstretched as if blessing the city. The view from here is breathtaking. Next, visit the beautifully situated Metropolitan Cathedral, ascending by a series of cable car rides. On the first hill, Urca, walk around the flowered walkways, enjoying the dazzling vistas. The second hill is none other than the famous Sugar Loaf Mountain, from which you can admire the unique beauty of Guanabara Bay, Niterói, Santa Cruz Fortress (a landmark of Rio’s history), and, of course, the fabled Beach of Copacabana. Welcome Dinner at the Hotel.

Day 03 Tuesday Rio de Janeiro

Later, visit the magnificently restored Grand Synagogue and the Jewish Center for Lunch, along with an insider’s view of the oldest legally constituted Jewish community in the New World.
