Here is a world of butterflies, hummingbirds, and orchids, of waterfalls, mists and gentle mountains. Ecologically unique, with rare species and friendly, warm people, this Central American country invites you into a world of wonder and innocence. Though our Costa Rica Jewish tours are not packed with Jewish sites, you will meet with member’s of the small but vibrant Jewish Community.

Day 1 Wednesday USA – San Jose

Depart on flights from the USA to Costa Rica. Upon arrival at the Juan Santa Maria International Airport, your Costa Rica Jewish tours will begin as our Tour Director will greet you. Enjoy the warm weather’s relaxing embrace as you look ahead to a beautiful break from winter. En route to the hotel, you will be briefed on the surrounding natural wonders and fascinating experiences that await you in the days ahead. Welcome Dinner. Hotel.

Day 2 Thursday San Jose

Breakfast. Today, you will be introduced to the rich culture and history of Costa Rica by experiencing the museums and sites of its capital, San Jose. Begin with an orientation and drive through the exquisite Sabana Park. Then, enjoy a walking tour through the historic National Theater, a masterpiece of both art and architecture. You will also visit the small but significant Historic Museum to gain an understanding of the development of this country. Lunch at the Jewish Community Center, followed by an introduction to Jewish Heritage in Costa Rica, highlighted by a visit to the Synagogue. Later, continue to the University of Costa Rica and the Supreme Court, as you head back to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. Hotel.

Day 3 Friday San Jose – Arenal

Breakfast. This day will take you to one of the most magnificent spots on earth – Arenal, where volcanoes rise out of the mists, thermal waters emerge from the ground amidst lush, tropical greenery, and waterfalls cascade like fountains of eternal youth. En route to Arenal, visit the Doka Coffee Plantation, where you will learn all the stages of coffee production – from first-choice bean to fabulous refreshing cup. You will be able to sample all the roasts and purchase unique gifts. Next, visit the La Paz Waterfall Center, and learn about the rich flora and avian life for which Costa Rica is famous. Along the path to the falls, you will stop to see butterflies and the ever-lively hummingbirds. From special viewing platforms enjoy thrilling views of the roaring falls, surrounded by thick green growth of the forest, vines and indigenous plants. Afterwards, continue to the Tabacon Spa Hotel. Time to relax before your elegant Dinner.Hotel.

Day 4 Saturday Arenal

Breakfast. Today’s morning is at leisure to enjoy the Spa at your resort hotel, indulging in its many thermal pools and warm cascades of healthful waters. After Lunch, depart for an excursion to the Pena Blancas River. During a magnificent float on the river, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of the rainforest, and experience its unique peacefulness. Monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and magnificent birds calmly await you. Throughout the excursion, your guide will offer commentary on the many species of flora and fauna encountered on this heavenly journey. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Remainder of day at leisure. Hotel.

Day 5 Sunday Arenal – Jaco Beach

Breakfast. Today, travel to the Pacific Coast and our wonderful resort hotel. En route, visit the Orchimex Orchid Nursery. Here you will learn about this most sensuously beautiful of flowers – how to plant, maintain and take care of them. Walking through greenhouses, you will get a chance to see the broad variety of orchids which Costa Rica proudly exports to the world. Next, stop for Lunch, then continue to Jaco Beach for an afternoon at leisure in your lush accommodations at this Pacific paradise. In the evening, enjoy Dinner and a Costa Rican Show – featuring the beautiful folkloric dances of the different regions of Costa Rica. Hotel.

Day 6 Monday Jaco Beach – Manuel Antonio – Jaco Beach

Breakfast. Today, a nature guide will take you on an informative walk through the most famous National Park in Costa Rica: the magnificent Manuel Antonio National Park. During your leisurely walk, you may encounter sloths, several breeds of monkeys, and many exotic birds, while listening to an informative talk on the natural history of this magnificent ecosystem. Lunch at a local restaurant, after which you will return to the hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. We recommend that you take advantage of the hotel’s beachfront location and relax as the sunset unfolds its colorful splendor before you. Another day in paradise! Hotel.

Day 7 Tuesday Jaco Beach

Breakfast. This morning, get ready for another fantastic experience – an Aerial Tram Tour. “The Rain Forest Aerial Tram–Pacific” is a new ecotourism project of 222 acres, allowing you to discover the hidden secrets and hanging gardens of the Tropical Forest from a new perspective. Riding high along the tramway, you will see not only the exuberant forest, but also majestic waterfalls and the Pacific coast – spectacular! Return to the hotel for an afternoon at leisure – on the beach, poolside, or perhaps strolling the colorful streets in Jaco. Farewell Dinner.Hotel.

Day 8 Wednesday Jaco Beach

Breakfast, followed by a transfer back to San Jose and the Juan Santa Maria International Airport. There is no better way to say goodbye than to drive along one of Costa Rica’s most scenic routes. Upon arrival to the airport, check in for your flights to the USA. Adios, Costa Rica!
