Itinerary

Day 01 Tuesday Arrival to Beijing

Arrive in China. Upon arrival at Beijing’s International Airport, you will be met by your professional Chinese Tour Director and transferred to the Hotel. Dinner.

Day 02 Wednesday Beijing

Breakfast at the hotel. Begin your China adventure in one of the oldest parts of Beijing, the traditional Hutong area, where you will visit Chinese homes and enjoy a home-hosted Lunch. In the afternoon, visit the famed Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, once reserved solely for the great Emperors. Walking in the footsteps of Royal Chinese history, enjoy viewing the living quarters, clock collection, jewelry and other treasures. Dinner. Hotel.

Day 03 Thursday Beijing

Breakfast. Today’s excursion takes you to the Great Wall of China, justly famed as a “Wonder of the World.” At one of the most beautiful sections, enjoy a comfortable ride by cable car to the Wall. Watch this less crowed area of the Wall winding up and down the mountainsides. After Lunch, return to Beijing with the remainder of the day at leisure. Hotel.

Day 04 Friday Beijing – Xi’an

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, visit the Temple of Heaven, known as the most perfectly harmonious building in China. Enjoy viewing the activities in the surrounding park: people playing the Chinese game of “Mah Jongg” or exercising the graceful movements of Tai Chi. Lunch. Later, transfer to the airport for the flight to Xi’an. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.

Day 05 Saturday Xi’an

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, a waking tour in the historic Xi’an, including a visit to the Muslim Quarter. It is here one can feel the history of bazars and market of the Silk Road, which once upon a time began in Xi’an. After Lunch, enjoy free time to explore Xi’an further. In the evening, time for the Tang Dynasty Dinner Show. Hotel.

Day 06 Sunday Xi’an – Lijiang

Breakfast at the Hotel. Today, you will visit the Terra Cotta Museum on the outskirts of Xi’an to witness the wonder of the thousands of Terra Cotta Warriors. Begin the visit by watching the Circle Vision film for an understanding of the historic setting of this phenomenon. Later, enter the exhibition and come face-to-face with one of mankind’s greatest and most painstaking creations – no two soldiers are alike.After Lunch, transfer to the Xi’an airport for the connecting flight to Lijiang. With its spectacular backdrop of mountains, Lijiang has retained a historic townscape of high quality and authenticity. Its architecture is a unique blend of elements from several cultures that came together over the course of centuries. Today, it is one of the most original and scenic towns in all of China, and is known to have more than eleven minority groups, the best-known being the Naxi, Dongba and Tibetan peoples. Day 07 Monday Lijiang

Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a walking tour in Old Dayan Town. This famed 800 year-old town, designated by UNESCO as a “World Heritage” location, is wonderfully easy to explore and enjoy. Lunch at a Naxi Garden, followed by an introduction to the Naxi culture. Hotel.

Day 08 Tuesday Lijiang

Breakfast at the hotel. Now, a full day to quietly enjoy Lijiang and its beautiful surroundings. In the morning, visit a Yuhu village and the small museum for the American scholar Joseph Rock, who introduced the beauty of the isolated Naxi culture to the world. Continue to the Jade Peak Temple, with its 300-year-old trees covering the grounds. After Lunch, enjoy a spectacular cable car ride up the Yulong Snow Mountain (weather permitting), whose peaks reach up to 18,000 feet. You will enjoy the fantastic vistas of this mountainous area. Return to Lijiang. Hotel.

Day 09 Wednesday Lijiang – Guilin – Yangshuo

Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a transfer to the airport, where you will board your connecting flight to Guilin. Lunch is served during the flight. Upon arrival in Guilin, enjoy a picturesque drive to the poetic and colorful little town of Yangshuo. Experience the tranquil atmosphere and quaint streets as the sun sets. Hotel.

Day 10 Thursday Yangshuo

Breakfast at the hotel. Relish a day in a unique environment of natural beauty, with hundreds of hills and colorful water-filled rice fields, blended with quaint villages and friendly people. Many travelers describe Yangshou as “what I expected China to look like.” During the day, travel to picturesque villages by means of electric carts, and visit some of the minority (tribal) groups of China. Cruise the Li River to the traditional market in Fuli. Lunch will be served during the tour. Return to the hotel. In the evening, see the Impression Sanjie Liu performance on the banks on of the Li River and with Yangshuo’s characteristic mountains as a backdrop. Hotel.

Day 11 Friday Yangshuo – Guilin – Hangzhou

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Guilin for a visit to one of China’s many tea plantations to learn about tea farming, classification, tea tasting and a traditional tea ceremony. Next, transfer to the Guilin airport for the flight to Hangzhou, capital of the Zheijang province and famed for its natural beauty and cultural heritage. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel in center of town. Dinner. Hotel

Day 12 Saturday Hangzhou

Breakfast. This morning visit the West Lake, undoubtedly the most renowned site of Hangzhou. The Lake’s scenic beauty blends in perfect harmony with historical and cultural sites such as Solitary Hill, the Mausoleum of General Yue Fei and the Six Harmonies Pagoda. After Lunch, visit the Longjing village and the Ling Yin Temple considered to be one of the most important Buddhist temples in China. In the evening, see Yimou Zhang’s Hangzhou Impression in the natural setting of the West Lake.Hotel.

Day 13 Sunday Hangzhou – Shanghai

Breakfast. Visit the He Fang Street in the historical part of the city. Here you will find the unique conservation of century old traditions preserved. Typical Chinese architecture dominates along with the shops of the past. Silk products, teahouses and the the traditional Hu Qingyu Pharmacy makes a scene of the past – in sharp contrast to the new and dynamic China. After Lunch, transfer to the train station and board the express train to Shanghai. The journey on the train is about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival in Shanghai, visit the World Expo Exhibition. Hotel.

Day 14 Monday Shanghai

Breakfast at the hotel. The morning program has been exclusively reserved for a Jewish tour of Shanghai. Begin at the Peace Hotel, once the property of one of the world’s wealthiest Jewish families, the Sassoons. Continue to the Monument of the Stateless Refugees, followed by a visit to the former Moshel Synagogue and the Documentation Center of the Jewish Refugees – a fascinating, positive Chinese chapter in World War II’s Jewish history. Lunch will be served during the tour. Later, explore the splendid Yu Gardens and the colorful markets in the Old Quarter of Shanghai. Hotel.

Day 15 Tuesday Shanghai

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, visit the Longhua Buddhist Temple for an introduction to Buddhism and a special vegetarian Lunch. Afternoon is at leisure. In the evening, transfer to the Old Quarter at twilight for traditional tea at the famous Huxinting Mid-Lake Pavilion Teahouse. Continue, via illuminated landmarks such as the Shanghai Museum, Opera, Technion and the famous Nanjing Road, to your Farewell Dinner restaurant. Hotel.

Day 16 Wednesday Shanghai – USA

Breakfast at the hotel. Later, transfer to Shanghai Airport for the home flight to the USA.
