Itinerary

Departure from the USA to Buenos Aires.

Day 02 Monday Arrival in Buenos Aires

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires’ Ezeiza International Airport, you are met by your local guide to begin your sightseeing of this wonderful city. Majestic avenues and parks, monumental buildings, sidewalk cafes, and a generous array of museums give this capital – the loveliest in South America – an undeniably cosmopolitan air. Strongly influenced by the most memorable European cities, Buenos Aires boasts an aristocratic Northern Quarter which evokes the best of Paris; Avenida de Mayo, which recalls the flavor of Madrid’s Gran Via; leafy Belgrano, recalling London’s charming suburbs; and the noisy and colorful La Boca Quarter, to which Naples seems to have been magically transported. Welcome Dinner. Hotel.

Day 03 Tuesday Buenos Aires

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, you will experience Jewish Buenos Aires with a visit to the Libertad Synagogue and Museum. Enjoy Lunch and continue the sightseeing of the Plaza de Mayo, the Government House, the Cathedral, Columbus Square, La Boca’s “Caminito” (well known for the tango), San Martín Square, Santa Fé Avenue, the Recoleta Cemetery (where Evita Peron’s tomb can be found), Grand Bourg Square, the Palermo Chico district, the famous Polo grounds and Race Track, and the splendid Colon Theatre Opera House. Hotel.

Day 04 Wednesday Buenos Aires

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a day at leisure to absorb more of Buenos Aires’ multifacted charms. In the evening, a special treat: Dinner & Tango Show! In order to fully appreciate the allure of this dance, here is a brief history: The first tango emerged in the late 19th century from a mixture of various rhythms, danced in the poorer quarters (don’t most dance crazes start this way?). At first forbidden due to its enormous sensuality, the tango is now not only part of the background music of Argentina, but its most important cultural symbol. Hotel.

Day 05 Thursday Buenos Aires – Bariloche

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, transfer to the airport for the short flight to San Carlos de Bariloche. Situated in the middle of Nahuel Huapi National Park, Bariloche is the center of the gorgeous Northern Lake District. Its strong European influence, added to the breath-taking vista of lakes and mountains, gives Bariloche the nickname of “the Switzerland of Argentina.” See the Campanario Mountain where, if you wish, you can take a chair lift and soar to the summit. From there, you will be able to admire one of the most beautiful and fascinating views in this area. Continuing the journey, cross the bridge over the Angostura (which joins the Moreno and the Nahuel Huapi lakes) for an overview of the surrounding lakes and mountains. Continuing alongside the El Trebol Lagoon, reaching the San Pedro and Llao Llao peninsulas. From the picturesque Puerto Pañuelo, navigate pristine blue lakes by boat, surrounded by the majestic Andes Mountains. Dinner. Hotel.

Day 06 Friday Bariloche

Breakfast at the hotel. Departing from Bariloche, head towards Puerto Pañuelo, where you will embark to navigate the Blest arm of Nahuel Huapi Lake. Puerto Blest is an area of quiet lakes, with magnificent fjords and channels. We will cross to the Los Cántaros cascade, stepping on wooden stairs to admire incredibly beautiful falls of clear, cool water. Lunch is served during the tour. Continue to Lake Frias with vistas of the glacier peaks of the Andes. Hotel.

Day 07 Saturday Bariloche

Breakfast at the hotel. Today is a day of tranquillity. Rest, relax, and fully enjoy some of the many activities at the hotel situated in one of the most naturally blessed spots on earth. Hotel.

Day 08 Sunday Bariloche – El Calafate

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart Bariloche and head toward a world of glaciers. Los Glaciares National Park is found at the extreme southwest of the Province of Santa Cruz. Its magical landscape of snow-capped peaks and dense glaciers has been declared a Natural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. El Calafate, a small town lying on Lake Argentino, is the gateway to this wonderland. Dinner. Hotel.

Day 09 Monday El Calafate

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, you will experience the “Los Glaciares” National Park. As the road winds, view the “Curva de los Suspiros,” and Perito Moreno Glacier, a majestic glacier that descends from the ice cap into Lake Argentino, forming a barrier two miles wide by 165 feet high. There is usually some “ice activity” at the glacier – and even a sliver breaking off the face makes a deafening report and high splash as it hits the lake. Here is a most awe-inspiring look at the face of the natural world. Dinner. Hotel.
