Itinerary
Day 01 Departure from the USA
Depart for Italy, sensuous land of sunshine, wine, olives and whispering cypresses. Tomorrow morning, you will begin your experience of “la dolce vita.”
Day 02 Florence – Siena
Upon arrival at the airport, meet the Tour Director as well as culinary writer and restaurateur. Transfer by to your hotel in the heart of Tuscany. Relax and unwind, exploring your tranquil retreat in the sumptuous Siena region. Later, enjoy a traditional Italian Welcome dinner. Villa.
Day 03 Siena – San Gimigniano – Volterra – Siena
Today, you will visit some of the loveliest of Tuscan towns. An expert local guide will introduce you to the special charms of Siena, with its fairy-tale Gothic cathedral and shell-shaped, medieval Piazza del Campo, as well as the nearby hillside village of San Gimigniano. Continue on to Volterra, where you will visit a farm devoted to olive oil production and Tuscany’s prized cheese, pecorino. Dine on country specialties at the rustic farmhouse, before returning to your villa in the Siena area.
Day 04 Siena – Lucca – Pisa – Siena
Lucca, with its ancient Roman walls, is justly adored as one of the most beautiful towns in Tuscany. Today, you will travel there for a cooking lesson by a local chef, followed by the Lunch you have just prepared. Next, enjoy a guided stroll through Lucca, amidst its many well-preserved medieval palazzos. Now, on to Pisa, where you will spend an unforgettable afternoon with your local guide – and perhaps plumb the mysteries of that remarkable Leaning Tower. Dinner. Villa.
Day 05 Siena – Florence – Chianti Region (Greve) – Siena
This morning, you will travel to the premier city of the Renaissance – legendary Florence. See the majestic Cathedral and its Duomo (the epitome of Firenze’s skyline), the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia (with Michelangelo’s sublime statue of David), and more. Later, drive to the lush Chianti Classico region for a wine-tasting experience, with Dinner. Villa.
Day 06 Siena
Relish a day of leisure at the villa, or travel by coach to the nearby outlet mall to enjoy a reduced-price taste of Armani, Ferragamo, and Gucci, among other Italian masters of style. Tonight, enjoy a Farewell Dinner. Villa.
Day 07 Siena – USA
Transfer to the airport in Florence with fond memories of the days filled with culinary Tuscany. Arrivederci, Toscana.
