Frequent asked questions

Here are answers to questions we are often asked. You are of course welcome to call us anytime for any question you may have.

What is the difference between a featured tour and a custom tour?

We are travel specialists and proud to have a worldwide network of longstanding contacts. Our featured tours are scheduled to leave at specific dates and with a pre-set program that has been developed through years of experience. If that doesn’t meet your needs, we can create a customized tour especially for you. Then you can travel on dates that fit your schedule, and with an itinerary personally designed for your interests and enthusiasms. So why not treat your family to a special occasion, or bring friends along from your work, organization, synagogue or travel club?

How do I sign up for a tour?

You can sign up using the registration form included on this website. Please print, fill out, and return the form to us along with your $500 deposit. You can also contact us to request a brochure and registration form. We will send you the necessary documents, and all you need to do is complete and return them to us along with your $500 deposit.

How do I pay for my tour?

For our published tours, you can pay in the way that fits you best – by check, wire transfer, Zelle, or by credit card. However, a 3.8% fee will be added to the total when paying with credit cards.

Can I make my own air arrangements?

Yes, you can and you should make your own flight arrangements. Today, airlines frequently charge more for group bookings than if you book the flights yourself. In addition, we know that many of you have collected generous mileage, so why not use your mileage plan when you travel with us? If you need assistance with booking of flights, we are pleased to help you. When making the flight arrangements, always check with us if a transfer from the airport to the hotel is included For most tours, we make sure someone will meet you and bring you to the hotel on the scheduled arrival and departure day.

Does Momentum Tours always feature places of Jewish interest?

Yes, we always include Jewish points of interest on our Featured Tours. Since Jewish history has coincided with many of the places we visit, we are proud to offer a Jewish perspective on our travels. Unlike most other tour companies, we celebrate the Jewish experience. Traveling with us, you will also help support communities (some of which are struggling) worldwide. Your visit is a gift to these communities.

Are your tours Kosher?

Our tours in Israel are strictly Kosher. Outside Israel, most tours are not, so please check the information for each tour. If the tour is Kosher, it will be clearly indicated. On non-kosher tours, we always offer a variety of meal options, including fish and vegetarian-based menus, to best accommodate your needs. Please note, we can customize strictly Kosher tours to most parts of the world.

If I need a visa for my trip, will Momentum Tours assist me?

Of course, we will always assist you with visas and inform you about the visas required for U.S. citizens. We provide all necessary documents for the visa and include instructions for completing the application, etc. We have also partnered with a specialized company for visa application, should you prefer to have assistance.

Are your tours recommended for families?

Yes, we are proud of always having generations in mind when creating tours. However, not all tours are suitable for younger children, so we recommend consulting us if you are interested in a tour for you and your family.

Do you offer a Traveler’s Protection Plan?

We certainly do. We consider a Travel Protection Plan to be money well spent. Unexpected events can occur at any time in our busy lives. Please note that several Travel Protection Plans offer a waiver for pre-existing conditions when the plan is purchased within a specific timeframe. All in all, purchasing a Travel Protection Plan is a smart move for the sophisticated traveler, and we strongly recommend that each traveler consider doing so.

What can you offer the solo traveler?

We welcome single travelers and some times develop tours with single travelers in mind. As a solo traveler, you can choose to stay in a single room or let us help you to find a person with whom to share a double. Please note that hotels always charge a supplement for single rooms.

How much baggage may I take?

For most tours, you may bring one standard-sized suitcase, plus a carry-on.

Can I bring my child or grandchild on a Momentum Tours trip?

By all means.  It might be one of the best things you ever did with your child or grandchild. You will develop even stronger bonds and share special moments for many years to come. Since our tours vary in age appropriateness, please always request whether your chosen tour is suitable for all children.

How do you handle special requests?

Once you sign up on a tour, we will do our utmost to fulfill your requests, and in most cases will be able to satisfy your needs. Always consider that the earlier you book, the more likely it is that your request will be fulfilled.

What happens if I need to cancel?

We have made the cancellation process as simple and straightforward as possible. Pending the time you need to cancel, there can be cancellation fees, sometimes even high dfees. We strongly recommend that every traveler purchase a Travel Protection plan that can cover the cancellation fees.

What Covid related precautions do you take?

Your safety is most important. Negative COVID-19 tests and masks are no longer required for travel. You can bring a few masks along and wear them in crowded places. We recommend that travelers take a COVID-19 test before a trip. Some travelers bring Paxlovid along as a precaution. Please note that Momentum Tours cannot be held responsible for any COVID-19-related situations that may affect your travel plans. We strongly recommend that each traveler purchase quality travel insurance.
