Days 5-10 St. Petersburg

Glorious, pastel-colored architecture is seen all around as you cruise along the serene Moika River. Enjoy the world-class Hermitage Museum, with its vast collections begun by Catherine the Great, admiring masterworks and the Gold Room (with a jewelry collection strongly associated with the Golden Age of St. Petersburg). See Yusupov Palace, where Rasputin was assassinated. Delight in the waterfalls and fountains of Peterhof Palace, summer residence of the Russian Royal Family. Don't miss the Jewish St. Petersburg, with Safra's glorious Synagogue, Yeshivas and the new Jewish Center opened in 2005.
