Romania is a part of old Europe that is quickly vanishing – horses and carriages clip-clopping by, farmers in the fields, a slow, folkloric and traditional pace of life. Step back several centuries and discover a magical country, lost in time – and at a great value, too. Not simply beautiful, Romania presents a soulful tapestry of gypsy music, medieval Europe, and deep-rooted Jewish culture. The Ba'al Shem Tov, founder of the mystical Chassidic movement, spent much of his life here.

All Private tours are based on specific dates, services & standards - all chosen by you. As each tour, therefore, will be different, we will make you our best offer based on your requests. Here is just one sample:

Day 1 Departure from the USA

    Day 2 -3 Brasov
Experience the medieval Old Town, and visit the Brasov Synagogue, the Sinaia Palace, framed by magical woodlands, and Dracula's Castle in Bran.

    Day 4 Piatra Neamt
Travel through Transylvania and ascend the Carpathian Mountains. Piatra Neamt features two unique synagogues, each hundreds of years old. The Ba'al Shem Tov was inspired by this part of world.

Day 5-6 Gura Humorului and Bucovina

The Painted Monasteries of Bucovina have been placed on UNESCO's list of unmissable World-Heritage sites.

    Day 7-8 Iasi
This town boasts a rich Jewish heritage. Visit the 17th century Synagogue and Jewish Cemetery, as well as the Jewish Community Center.

    Day 9-11 Bucharest
This modern capital reflects a wide assortment of influences, both Western and Eastern. See the Choral Synagogue and Jewish Museum as well as sights like the Parliament Palace, the Atheneum and the Arch of Triumph.

    Day 12 Bucharest - USA

Other places of interest in Romania:
Romania is filled with places of specific Jewish interest. While there are many key areas of interest in Transylvania, standards of roads and accommodations are only being improved at a slow pace. The spas around Constanza still lag behind international standards.
