Featured Tours 2007
Each year we select a few choice destinations and create meaningful itineraries
for them. Some are perennial favorites, while others offer a new locale or perspective
for the sophisticated Jewish traveler. While each tour has its own unique flavor,
all have been caringly designed to offer the most memorable, beautiful and insightful
of experiences. Travel in good company, knowing that every detail has been orchestrated
and arranged for your comfort and pleasure.
This tour is the quintessential Jewish Heritage tour, offering homage to the countless
contributions made by Jews over the centuries to the spirit and culture of this
part of the world. Krakow-Budapest-Prague: each of these cities evokes not only
world history but a deep, rich, and specifically Jewish past.
Open yourself to an experience you thought you could only dream about. While traveling
in unhurried luxury, see glorious, truly Chinese sights such as the delicately beautiful
Yunnan Province and the legendary Yangtze river, whose centuries-old lifestyle will
soon disappear, as well as world-class landmarks such as The Great Wall and The
Forbidden City.
This is a tour that we were hesitant to create, for obvious reasons. Germany means
painful memories to so many people. But for the educated Jewish traveller, few places
can be more significant - Jews have lived there for centuries. The great scholar,
Rashi – without whom understanding the Torah would be near to impossible – lived
in Worms, Germany.
What can we say about Israel? Homeland, inspiration, center of our souls, this land
has been in our prayers for millennia. Whether you have visited before or are a
first timer, this tour is the absolute creme de la creme of Israel. It offers everything:
insight, beauty and the utmost in pampering.
This tour is a must for the sophisticated heritage traveler. Jews have lived in
Lithuania/Belarus for over 800 years - predating even the arrival of Christianity
to this part of the world. Their legacy is rich with both Torah and secular scholarship
- most Litvaks could speak at least three languages, two of them being Hebrew and
a rich, classic Yiddish.
A visit to the Ukraine and Belarus takes you right into heart of authentic Eastern
Europe. Take the road less traveled and wander back in time to exotic cities like
Minsk and Kiev, or the shtetls of Berdichev and Mir. Centuries of scholarship and
deeply spiritual Jewish practices took place in this part of the world, and the
vibrancy of the Yiddish-speaking communities, as well as the Chassidism that emerged
from within them, can be felt in the very air
